Saihoji - 西芳寺

This temple is called Moss temple.Rinzai zen temple. They preserve moss all around with good condition. If you wanna go this temple you have to apply and submit in advance. 3000yen for admission fee is expensive considering other temples in Kyoto. but its really worth for it. also You have to take part of Shakyo (Japanese form of sutra transcription) before hang around the garden. It was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as part of the "Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto".

西芳寺は臨済宗で「苔寺」とも呼ばれており、苔が素晴しい状態で保存されています。そのため、このお寺に入るには事前申し込みがいるうえ、拝観料3000円と他の京都のお寺と比べても高くなっています。その中に「写経」も含まれるので、それを考えるとリーズナブルかも知れません。この写経を終わらせた後、お庭の拝観ができます。行く価値ありありです☆ユネスコの世界文化遺産に指定されています。

Jizoin - 地蔵院

This temple is called bamboo temple which originally was built in 1367, Kyoto. but Its burnt out due to Onin no ran. after that in Edo period 14th monk in this temple, fixed up. Main hall was re-built in 1935.

It has a beautiful cozy garden inside. but Its forbidden to take any pics.







Yoriyuki Hosokawa's (who build this temple) grave.

Shinnyodo - 真如堂

Here is one of the most beautiful temples with autumn leaves in kyoto. a bit pity cos when I was there. most of them were fallen off.
