Daitokuji Temple - 大徳寺

Sanmon(三門)built in 1589. This is the famous gate which made Hideyoshi furious. Therefore He told Sen Rikyu (who is tea ceremony master) to seppuku.(秀吉が千利休に切腹を命じた原因の門)

Chokushimon(勅使門)built in 1640.

Honbo.(本坊)only open for public in special occasion.

Sangenin(三玄院)Founded by Ishida Mistunari and other two people. This is not open for public.

Daitokuji temple Kotoin - 大徳寺高桐院

Kotoin was built in 1601 by Hosokawa Tadaoki. Garden here is beautiful.

Daitokuji temple Sokenin - 大徳寺総見院

This was build by Toyotomi Hideyoshi to honor Oda Nobunaga. This place is only open for special occasion. is able to see wooden Oda nobunaga statue which is on school text books. (豊臣秀吉が織田信長を弔うためにたてたもの。普段は非公開。総見院本堂には織田信長の有名な木像があります。)

The well. Its Korean stone which Kato Kiyomasa brought back to Japan from Korea.(井戸。加藤清正が朝鮮から持ち帰った石。どうしてかというと・・・出発時にはたくさんいた兵士も朝鮮で戦死し、日本へ帰国する際、人数が減った分、船のバランスを保つために石を持ち込んだ。。。そうです。この井戸は今でも総見院で使用されています。)

Amidaji - 阿弥陀寺(寺町)

Amidaji temple's Hondo. closed. It was stormy in Kyoto.....but temples with rain is actually good match.

Amidaji temple's Sanmon(山門).This temple is closed. but is able to walk around inside. このお寺は普段は開いていませんが、境内は自由に散策できます。)

This is Honnoji where Nobunaga died in a rebellion by Akechi Mistuhide. unfortunately Hondo was under construction when I got there. (本能寺、行ったときは残念ながら本堂は工事中で見れませんでした。。。)

Kenkun Shrine - 建勲神社

The kenkun shrine was built in 1869 to honor Oda Nobunaga in Kyoto.

There is Oda mokko (oda's family mark,織田木瓜)

Atsumori(敦盛)Oda Nobunaga danced with this phrase before the battle.

Okunoin - 奥の院

There are famous Japanese Sengoku warloads' mausoleum in Okunoin. very quiet and fresh air around in this place. Rest in peace. - ここ奥の院には有名な戦国武将の墓碑が数多くあります。そのうち、もっとも有名なものをご紹介。
Oda Nobunaga (織田信長)

Akechi Mitsihide(明智光秀)- His mausoleum's stone is cracked as soon as when temples monks changed the stone every time. There are four stones on the courner in his mausoleum to stay his spirits peaceful. - 明智光秀の墓石は何度取り替えてもすぐに割れるそうです。そのため、墓碑の4隅に清めた石を置いて、魂を鎮めてるそうです。
